Selecting Find..., under the CoStar menu, allows you to search for any string of characters contained in your list. You can enter a search string of up to 255 characters in length. Find... searches the entire list for exact matches of that search string, disregarding upper or lower case.
Find... displays the first record containing the string criteria in the List. Selecting Find Next, under the CoStar menu, further searches your list to include additional records. The search pauses at each record containing the string criteria. This continues until all matches and the entire list has been searched, although you can stop searching at any time.
To further define your search criteria, click on the check boxes in the Find dialog box to search by “Whole Word” and/or “Match Upper/Lowercase”. This helps to narrow the amount of information that must be searched and speeds up the process.
Additionally, by selecting the “All At Once” option in the Find dialog, CoStar DA searches the entire list and highlights all found items. Selecting Print immediately after the procedure is complete prints all records which share the string criteria.
